Editorial standards and interpretive anchors<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Canon is part of the doctrine, not its ornament. It describes the voice in which Just Council speaks, what it deliberately refrains from doing, how it recognises a good quotation and what the world looks like when it has to be shown in an image. We publish these principles openly, because a standard that cannot be checked is not a standard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/linearGradient><\/defs><\/svg>\n\n\n\n

Voice<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The voice of Just Council is personal but not confessional; doctrinal but not academically cold; humane but not sentimental. A good text works as a moral manifesto with an analytical structure: it opens with an image or a concrete scene, moves on to human experience, only then names the principle, and places the public conclusion at the end \u2014 never in place of the analysis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A text is written for the person who works, decides, heals, manages, raises children and bears the consequences of their own decisions. Not for an audience waiting to applaud. The test is a single question asked before publication: would I still put my name to this text in five years\u2019 time, once the emotions surrounding the subject have subsided?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Editorial boundaries<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The doctrine excludes five things, and does so deliberately. A partisan tone \u2014 because judgement concerns the mechanism and the act, never the camp. Accusatory polemic \u2014 because a text is meant to describe the path of repair, not to bid up outrage. Preachiness \u2014 because tradition here is a source of anthropology, not an instrument of advantage. An excess of abstraction \u2014 because a sentence that sounds wise but asserts nothing is, in this register, an error, not an ornament. And the enumeration of values in place of their application \u2014 a list of the thirteen values in a persuasive text is a sign that the doctrine has been quoted rather than used.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A separate, hard boundary is verification. Just Council does not cite research, statements or data that cannot be checked against their source. The doctrine offers no protection against factual error \u2014 it raises its cost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The figure of the righteous<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The preferred narrative figure is not the guilty but the righteous \u2014 the tzaddik, understood as the archetype of a person who already lives by the values in concrete, everyday practice. Not a hero and not an exception: a director, a coordinator, a doctor, an IT specialist, a pharmacist, a teacher, a neighbour. The choice of this figure is not a stylistic device. It is a doctrinal claim that the repair of a system begins with the people who are already carrying it out, not with pointing at those who have failed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interpretive anchors<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In Just Council a quotation does not replace thinking \u2014 it opens a perspective. The best anchor is short, resonant, anthropological and intelligible also to a reader outside a religious context. The rule is one anchor per text; where a historical frame works more universally, the anchor is the experience of Europe rather than a verse. The Torah and the Bible are treated here as a unified source of human values, not as two competing orders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
